GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's volleyball team is back on campus and has opened its practice schedule in preparation for the upcoming 2019 season.
Twenty student-athletes are on campus and opened practice Wednesday morning. The team had three two-hour sessions, preceded by a team meeting. With the date and location of the South Atlantic Conference tournament final on the back of their shirts, the Pioneers began the three-month long journey, hungry for a match-up on Nov. 23 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Head coach Danielle Marante, who is entering her first season at the helm of the TU program, returns 15 letter-winners from last year's 6-20 squad that finished in 10th place in the SAC standings.
This year's roster includes student-athletes hailing from 10 U.S. States as well as the country of Montenegro. States represented include: Florida, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, and Ohio.
The first day of classes is slated for Monday, August 19 with the season opening the weekend of Sept. 6-7 at the Bobcat Classic, hosted by Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
