MILLIGAN, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis team collected a 4-1 victory over Milligan University in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at the Mathes Tennis Center.
The Pioneers (1-1) pulled out the doubles point from the Buffaloes, then won three of four singles matches to give head coach Wyatt Pauley his first victory as Tusculum women's tennis coach.
In doubles, Ylva Frafjord Landa and Emma Kotzmannova defeated Lee Anne Endler and Melissa Duarte 6-3 at flight one, and Ginevra Moreno Villa teamed with Jimena Rivera Camacho for a 6-1 win over Tara Stewart and Laurel Rich at flight three.
In singles, Moreno defeated Stewart 6-0, 6-2 at flight three, and Landa downed Endler 6-2, 6-4 at flight one. Kotzmannova closed out the win for the Pioneers with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Duarte at flight two.
The Pioneers will take on Young Harris in a neutral-site match at Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday, Feb. 14 beginning at 10 a.m.
