GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University defeated Emory & Henry University 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis Tuesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Pioneers (4-13, 3-8 SAC) held on to take the doubles point from the Wasps (3-13, 2-10 SAC), then won three singles matches in straight sets to earn their second 4-0 sweep of the season.
In doubles, Elodie Baechler and Ylva Frafjord Landa defeated Sabina Chernega and Olivia Pursley 6-0 at flight one. At flight three, Samira Butt and Thilda Danielsson rallied for a 7-5 win over Nina Williams and Karlie Quinn to put the Pioneers up 1-0 in the match.
In singles, Butt swept Pursley 6-0, 6-1 at flight five and Baechler defeated Chernega 6-4, 6-1 at flight one. Moments after Baechler clinched her victory, Katie Bradley clinched the match for the Pioneers as she defeated Meghan Moore 6-2, 6-1 at flight six.
Baechler, the lone senior for the Pioneers, earned her 49th career singles victory with the win against Emory & Henry and improved her conference record to a perfect 5-0 this season.
The Pioneers will close their 2025 regular season on Saturday, April 12 at nationally-ranked Catawba. The Indians secured the top seed in the upcoming SAC Tournament and improved to 19-0 overall with a 4-0 win over Anderson on Tuesday.
