GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College locked up the sixth seed in the upcoming Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament with a 9-0 victory over Newberry College Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Pioneers (11-8, 4-5 SAC) lost a total of eight games in singles en route to a sweep of the Wolves (4-15, 0-8 SAC), winning all five contested matches in straight sets. The SAC Tournament will be contested April 20-22 at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
In doubles, Courtney Conley and Taylor Patterson posted an 8-2 victory over Marina Ziehe and Amanda Simmons at flight one, and Katie Hillis teamed with Blake Thompson for an 8-1 win at flight two over Shannon McManus and Lindsey Kyzer at flight two.
