NEWBERRY, S.C. --- Madison Malone registered a career-high seven points on four goals and three assists in Tusculum's 15-7 victory over Newberry College on Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. TC improves to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the SAC with the win.

Cheyenne Bray and Kelsey Crow also scored four goals each and assisted on another score for a total of five points apiece. Erin Sims, Calyn Kelly and Kelli McCalla also registered goals for TC, while Sims, Kelly and Rachel Del Duca also had an assist. Malone scored on all four shots she took and also tallied three ground balls and caused four turnovers.

Kaitlin Winnie and Brooke Wagner each split time in goal for Tusculum. Winnie made the start and got the win after making three saves, while Wagner made five saves in 40 minutes of action. Newberry's (0-6, 0-3 SAC) Courtney Reinhardt and Morgan Raffaele each had time in the cage, with Reinhardt taking the loss after allowing six goals as the starter with four saves.

Crow opened the scoring in the first minute of play to give TC an early 1-0 lead. Sims tallied a goal in the eighth minute before Jessica Baxtrom put the Wolves on the board and made the score 2-1 at the 19:25 mark of the first half.

Following the Newberry goal, the Pioneers reeled off five-straight goals to take a commanding 7-1 lead with just under seven minutes to play in the first half. Bray had the first three goals during the stretch in a four minute span. Crow added her second score of the game and Malone found the back of the cage for the first time.

Alexis Kahler stopped the run with a goal at the 6:22 mark, but Bray answered the score with her fourth goal of the half a minute later. Savannah Ohliger cut the deficit to 8-3 with a goal with 3:50 to play before the break. However, Malone scored her second goal at the 1:47 mark to send TC to the halftime locker room with a 9-3 lead.

TC continued the offensive production in the second half with four unanswered goals in the first 14 minutes of the period to take a 13-3 lead. Crow had the first two scores, while Malone and Kelly had the second two. Newberry's first goal of the frame came from Baxtrom at the 13:40 mark, followed by Malone's final goal of the game a minute later that gave the Pioneers a 14-4 lead.

Newberry did score three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game, while McCalla scored on a free-position attempt to help TC seal the eight-goal victory. The Pioneers out-shot the Wolves 29-17 and held a 32-21 advantage in ground balls.

The Pioneers will wrap-up a five-game roadtrip on Wednesday when they travel to Harrogate, Tennessee to take on Lincoln Memorial University at 4 p.m.
