GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's golf team will open the 2022-23 campaign next week as they make the short trip to Bristol for the King Invitational. (2022-23 Schedule)
The upcoming season includes nine regular-season tournaments, culminating with the South Atlantic Conference Championship in the spring.
Head coach Hunter Chandley, who is entering his inaugural season at the helm of the women's program as he returns two letter-winners from last year's club led by junior standout Nilubol Panno.
Tusculum will be defending its team title at the King Invitational after leading wire-to-wire last season where they posted a two-day score of 627 including a final round 306. Panno claimed medalist honors as well at the King event. The KU Invitational will be held this Monday and Tuesday (Sep. 26-27) at the Golf Club of Bristol.
TU will travel to Salisbury, North Carolina on Oct. 3-4 for the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. TU finished third at last year's tournament.
The Pioneers will travel to the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate (Oct. 17-18) and the Flagler Fall Slam (Oct. 24-25) to close out the fall portion of the schedule. Tusculum accounted for a pair of eighth place showings at both tournaments a year ago.
Tusculum will make its inaugural trip to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina for the Low Tide Intercollegiate, Feb. 27-28 to kick off the spring slate. The event is being held at the Dune West Golf & River Club and hosted by Limestone University.
The Pioneers play its next three tournaments in the State of Tennessee beginning with the CBU Buccaneer Classic in Memphis. TU will be the defending champion after carding a 54-hole total 941, including Panno who tied for seven place honors.
On Mar. 14-15, Tusculum will compete at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville. The Pioneers finished sixth in the NCAA Division I event, which is being hosted once again by Tennessee Tech.
Tusculum will host the 25th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial as the event will return to Link Hills Country Club. The Pioneers have won their home tournament in each of the last two seasons and eight times overall. Panno will also be defending her individual title as she birdied the final hole of the tournament to force a playoff where she won on the second extra hole.
The Pioneers will close out the regular season Mar. 27-28 for the Bearcat Invitational in Greenwood, South Carolina.
The 2023 SAC Championship will be conducted Apr. 2-4 and hosted by Anderson University at Cobbs Glen Country Club.
The NCAA Division II Super Regional will be held May 8-10, followed by the NCAA National Championship (May 15-19) in Eureka, Missouri.
