GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Defending champion
Tusculum College will host the 16th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial
Women's Golf Invitational, this Monday and Tuesday at Link Hills
Country Club.
This year's tournament field consists of teams and players
representing 17 institutions from four different states including
Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Seven
schools represented will be competing in the upcoming Food South
Atlantic Conference Championship, which will be held Apr. 14-16 in
Sevierville, Tenn.
Joining Tusculum at this year's McAmis Memorial are fellow SAC
members Anderson University, Carson-Newman University, Catawba
College, Lincoln Memorial University, Mars Hill College and Wingate
University.
The field also includes NCAA Division II squads Converse College,
Erskine College, King University, Lander University, North Georgia
College & State University, North Greenville University,
Pfeiffer University, Queens University of Charlotte, Shorter
University and University of West Georgia.
Tusculum won last year's Memorial with a tournament record score of 593, led by medalist Jillian Corum, who carded a three-under par score of 70-71=141. TC opened with a Memorial record 291 and followed with a final round 302.
Last year marked the fourth time the Pioneers have won the McAmis Memorial but first in a dozen years. TC has won the title in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2012. Lincoln Memorial, who was last year's runner-up at the McAmis Memorial, won this tournament in 2001.
The opening round starts Monday morning at 11 a.m. on the 5,832-yard, par 72 layout. Admission to the two-day, 36-hole tournament is free and open to the public.
