SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College
women's golf team shot a two-day score of 647 to finish ninth at
the 2010 Patsy Rendleman Invitational, held this week at the
Country Club of Salisbury.
Tusculum sophomore Jillian Corum led the Pioneers as she finished
tied for 19th place with 78-79=157. Teammate Haley Rye finished
with 161, including a career-best 78 on Tuesday. Sara Howard tied
for 40th place with 77-87=164, while Emily Palenkas shot 81-84=165
to tie for 43rd. Katie Doane rounded out the team scoring with her
86-88=174. Senior Adriana Vizcarrondo, playing as an individual
competitor, finished 43rd with 83-82=165.
In the team competition, Belmont Abbey posted a tournament record 591 in the victory, led by medalist Meagan Wallace, who posted a 139, including Tuesday's tournament record 66 (-6). UNC Pembroke finished eight shots behind the Crusaders, while Newberry and Pfeiffer tied for third with 625. Carson-Newman finished with fifth with 628, followed by Wingate (635), Lincoln Memorial (639), Columbus State (642), Tusculum, Lenoir-Rhyne (655), Catawba (657), Queens University of Charlotte (665), St. Andrews (725), North Greenville (726) and Coker (736).
This wraps up the fall portion of the Tusculum schedule. The Pioneers return to action Feb. 5-6, 2011 as they host the Tusculum/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in South Carolina.
