Jana Morning will serve as a graduate assistant coach for the Pioneer women's basketball team during the 2021-22 season.
Morning recently completed a four-year career at Berry College, earning first-team All-Southern Athletic Association honors in 2020-21 after leading the Vikings in scoring at 13.2 points per game. Morning ranked among the SAA leaders in three-pointers made (18) and attempted (58) and was second in the league with 2.5 steals per game. Her 3.4 assists per game were third in the conference, as was her 1.37 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Cartersville, Georgia native was second-team All-SAA in both 2018-19 and 2019-20, leading the team in scoring in 2019-20 at 10.9 per game. Morning finished her career as the school career leader in steals with 159, and averaged 8.9 points per game in 91 career contests while connecting on 102-for-348 from three-point range. At Tusculum, Morning reunites on staff with former Berry teammates Eveline Parsons and Alex Bolling, as the trio played three seasons together for the Vikings from 2017-18 through 2019-20.
Off the court, Morning earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication/public relations in May, 2021. She was a member of the Berry College Dean's List in the spring of 2020 and was twice named to the All-SAA Academic Honor Roll. Morning was assistant features editor of the Campus Carrier student newspaper, and worked game-day management for the Berry athletic department. Morning was also social media assistant for the women's basketball program, helping to run the team's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
