LILBURN, Ga. ---

The Tusculum College Women's basketball team has received votes in the latest USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Coaches Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Pioneers (13-5) have received votes in each of the last two weeks after being out of the poll entirely for three weeks, and were ranked as high as 19th earlier this season. Tusculum had its six-game winning streak come to an end with a 58-45 loss to Newberry on Saturday.

Two of Tusculum's victories have come against ranked teams: a 63-51 victory over then top-ranked Clayton State on Nov. 25 and a 68-61 win over then 11th-ranked Shaw on Nov. 28. Clayton State is fifth in this week's poll while Shaw is unranked but receiving votes. Lander, which was unranked when it defeated Tusculum 68-56 on Dec. 8, has moved from 24th to 19th in this week's poll.

Among the other Pioneer opponents receiving votes are Johnson C. Smith, Wingate and Catawba. Tusculum lost 61-55 at Johnson C. Smith on Dec. 16, won 79-69 over Wingate on Jan. 7 and defeated Catawba 63-42 at Pioneer Arena on Jan. 14. Tusculum still has games left at Wingate (Feb. 11) and Catawba (Feb. 18).
