EMPORIA, Kan. --- Tusculum University sophomore Theresa Green-White advanced to the finals of the women's 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship following Friday's preliminaries at Francis G. Welch Stadium.
Green-White ran 13.49 seconds to qualify fourth for Saturday's finals, while breaking her own school record of 13.67 seconds set at the Lee Last Chance Meet on May 11. The Stafford, Texas native, running in her first NCAA Championship event, finished second in the third and final heat just behind Adeyah Brewster of Minnesota State who ran 13.48 seconds. Green-White's time was the best among the non-heat winners, which will put her in lane 6 for Saturday's finals.
Green-White will be one of three Pioneers competing for national championships on the third and final day of the meet. Sophomore Daryl Smith Jr. will participate in the men's triple jump at 1:45 p.m., followed by freshman Caley Sosnowski in the women's javelin at 2:30 p.m. and Green-White in the 100 hurdles at 3:55 p.m. (all times Eastern).
