ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Anna Alloway has earned South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. This marks the first Pioneer to collect the player accolade since Kaytlin Stroinski in 2013, the year of the Pioneers' SAC Championship.
In Tusculum's four wins, the junior utility player finished with a batting average of .700, an on-base percentage of .824, and slugged 1.300. The Louisville, Tenn. native totaled eight runs scored, eight runs batted in, seven hits, seven walks, three doubles, and a homerun.
In the series with Converse, Alloway walked twice in both contests. In game one, she also added two hits, including a double, scored a pair, and brought in one run. The second half of the doubleheader featured a three-run homer as her lone hit and run. She also used one of her walks to add her fourth RBI of the game.
Alloway notched a pair of hits in each game of the doubleheader at Claflin. In both contests, she launched a double as well. The right-hander scored two runs, alongside two walks, in the first half of the day, and collected three runs, three RBI, and drew one walk in the second game.
The Pioneers have started the season 4-0 for just the fifth time in program history. They will look to tie the record (6-0) this weekend when they face the Senators of Davis & Elkins.
