GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- For the second time this season, Tusculum University men's volleyball senior Deklan Wingo has been named the Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (IVA) Offensive Player of the Week. This is the seventh IVA weekly honor of his career.
In two matches on the weekend, Wingo set two program records. He established a new mark with 31 kills against Catawba on Friday and on Saturday versus Thomas More, he took over the top spot in career service aces, which now sits at 92. Across the nine sets, Wingo averaged 5.78 kills, .67 aces, 1.56 digs, .56 blocks, and 6.83 points.
On the season, Wingo is averaging 4.98 kills on a .344 clip with 1.59 digs and .46 blocks per set for Tusculum.
Wingo leads the nation in kills per set and points per set (5.72) and is second in attacks per set (10.04). He also ranks 24th in hitting percentage.
Tusculum (15-12) is the No. 3 seed in the upcoming IVA Tournament and will face sixth-seeded Missouri S&T on Friday (Apr. 18) night.
