TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University men's and women's tennis teams earned academic honors for the 2024-25 season from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Both the Pioneer men and women received All-Academic Team status, while the two teams combined for to have 16 Scholar-Athlete honorees. Players must have a 3.5 grade-point average for the current academic year to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, while teams must have a combined GPA of 3.2 or above to receive All-Academic Team honors.
In Division II men's tennis, a total of 76 teams received All-Academic status with 577 student-athletes claiming Scholar-Athlete accolades. For the women, in Division II there were 104 All-Academic teams and 705 Scholar-Athletes.
For the Tusculum men, ITA Scholar-Athletes for 2024-25 are seniors Nathan Matsuguma, Felipe Velasquez Quintana and Nathan West, juniors Will Gee and Sarthak Sharma, sophomore Anton Krondell and Rens Verhaar, and freshmen Angelos Avgeris, Eli England and Isaac Wolff.
The Tusculum women that were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes are senior Elodie Baechler, juniors Katie Bradley and Ylva Frafjord Landa, sophomore Thilda Danielsson, and freshmen Valeria Diaz and Luisa Gerke.
The Pioneer men's tennis team had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.52 during the 2024-25 academic year, with the women's tennis team sporting a GPA of 3.62 as a group.
