Men's Tennis wraps up fall campaign with 8-1 victory over Mars Hill

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's tennis team wrapped up its 2015 fall campaign with an 8-1 win over Mars Hill on Sunday to finish with a perfect 3-0 record.

The Pioneers edged the Lions (2-3) in all three doubles matches to earn the first three points of the day. Jonas Winkelmann and Leon Seiz defeated Alberto Ortiz and Alejandre Ozaki 8-6 in the top flight. Tashique Kader and Fabian Paier were 9-7 winners over Ben Reid and Jorge Nyssen in the second position while Toby De Klerk and David Siegle knocked off Sam Lee and Markus Gattner at number three.

In singles action Seiz and Kader won in straight sets in the second and third spots respectively. Paier only dropped three games in his victory in the fourth flight while Eduardo Munoz won a super set in the sixth position. The Lions got their lone point in the top flight.

After the winter break, Tusculum will open the 2016 spring season on February 20 at Milligan College.
