ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum attack Chris Ryan has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday. Ryan earns this honor for the first time in his career.
Ryan, a senior from Old Bridge, New Jersey, finished with six points on four goals and two assists in the Pioneers' 24-7 home win over Shorter last Friday night. Ryan's four goals were one shy of his career high, while his six points were one short of the school record that has been set on six other occasions, including twice by Ryan. He scored three times in the first half as the Pioneers built an 8-3 lead at the intermission.
Ryan's performance boosted his career totals to 83 goals and 29 assists for 112 points, ranking him second in program history in both goals and points and fourth in assists. Ryan is also third on the program's all-time list with nine career man-up goals.
Tusculum returns to action this Saturday when they host North Greenville for a 3 p.m. contest.
