GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team opens the 2022-23 season next week as the Pioneers travel to Bristol for the King University Invitational. (2022-23 Schedule)
This year's slate consists of 10 regular-season tournaments which will conclude with the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Championship in Hickory, North Carolina this spring.
Tusculum golf alum Hunter Chandley is entering his first season at the helm of the Pioneer program and returns seven lettermen from last year's club.
The fall campaign begins this Monday and Tuesday at the King Invitational, which will be held at the Golf Club of Bristol. The Pioneers finished runner-up at last year's event as Liam Hermansson earned a spot on the All-Tournament team with his fifth place finish in his collegiate debut.
Tusculum will travel to SAC member Catawba for the Richard Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury on Oct. 3-4. The Rendleman is one of the regular stops on the Pioneer schedule as TU posted a third place showing at last year's event.
Tusculum will be at the Walters State Fall Classic Oct. 10-11 at the Country Club of Morristown. TU is the defending champion as the Pioneers notched the 50th team title in school history at last year's tournament.
On Oct. 17-18, the Pioneers will make their inaugural trip to the Copperhead Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida. The tournament is being held at Innisbrook Copperhead Golf Club and hosted by West Florida.
Tusculum will close out the fall slate Oct. 24-25 as they compete at the Matt Dyas Invitational in Carrollton, Georgia. The Pioneers are the defending champions as TU edged host West Georgia by a single-shot in last year's event.
The spring season opens Feb. 20-21 at the Saint Leo invitational in Dade City, Florida. TU finished 10th at last year's star-studded field which included several nationally-ranked programs.
Tusculum will compete at the Barton Spring Bulldog Clash, Feb. 27-28 at Pawley's Island, South Carolina.
TU returns to the Bearcat Classic on Mar. 6-7 in Greenwood, South Carolina. The Pioneers finished in the top half of the 22-team field last year including a final round 286.
Tusculum will host its spring tournament for a 29th time as the event returns to Link Hills Country Club and has been rebranded as the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate (Mar. 20-21), named after the long-time TU head coach who led the Pioneers for 28 seasons. Tusculum won last year's event for a third consecutive time and 12th overall.
Tusculum will make a rare trip north to Lexington, Kentucky for the Findlay Spring Invitational (Mar. 27-28). The tournament will be held at the University Club of Kentucky.
The SAC Championship will be hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University and held at the Lake Hickory Country Club, Apr. 16-18.
The NCAA Division II Super Regional is slated for May 11-13 in Davie, Florida. Qualifying teams and individuals will advance to the NCAA National Championship (May 22-26), which will be conducted at the Avalon Lakes Country Club in Warren, Ohio.
