MARVIN, N.C. --- The opening round of the
2015 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship has been
rained out.
Play started early Sunday morning, but a band of rains showers
halted play. All scores from Sunday will be scratched and the
teams will start fresh with a double-tee beginning at 11 a.m.
Monday.
Originally scheduled as a 54-hole event, the SAC Championship has been reduced to a 36-hole tournament with 18 holes played on Monday and Tuesday at Firethorne Country Club.
The Pioneers have finished runner-up in this event three times, the most recent in 2012. TC has finished fifth in the SAC Championship in each of the last two years.
Tusculum enters this year's conference championship with momentum winning four team titles this season, including three tournament crowns this spring alone.
