Pioneers listed in NCAA football statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum Pioneers are listed in nine team categories with the release of this week's NCAA Division II football statistics.

Tusculum has scored three defensive touchdowns this year which are the fourth-most in the nation.

The TU defense has recorded eight interceptions this season, which are the most in the South Atlantic Conference and listed 32nd nationally. Offensively, Tusculum has yet to throw an interception, one of only four programs in Division II to boast that feat.

The Pioneers are listed 16th in passing yards per completion (14.95 – 2nd in SAC), 28th in rushing offense (202.3 ypg – 3rd in SAC), 35th in fewest turnovers lost (8 – 6th in SAC), 37th in punt return defense (4.47 ypr – 3rd in SAC), 41st in first down defense (122 – 2nd in SAC) and 45th in time of possession (31:12 – 5th in SAC).

Dayquan Diston's 0.60 interceptions per game average is first in the conference and the fifth-best average in the nation. He has recorded three interceptions in his five games this year.

Xavier Gunn leads the SAC with his 1.33 passes defended per game average which is ranked 12th in the country.

DJ Dailey has three interceptions in his six contests in 2025 (0.50 avg), which are second in the SAC and 10th in NCAA II.

Rashad Watson leads the conference with his 9.7 tackles per game average which is rated 18th in the nation. Watson's 4.83 solo tackles per game average is 44th in NCAA II and second in the league.

Dylan Horne's 1.40 tackles for loss per game average is third in the conference and 32nd nationally.

Tusculum returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Catawba for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Shuford Stadium.
