ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Dajavon White has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Defensive Football Player of the Week announced league officials on Monday.
White, a 5-10, 295-pound junior defensive lineman from Cocoa, Florida, was credited with six tackles and two sacks including one which resulted in a third quarter safety in Tusculum's 23-21 road win at 24th-ranked Wingate University last Saturday. The win over the Bulldogs is the first win at Wingate since 2014.
White accounted for two tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry as he recorded four solo stops and a pair of assists.
He has made 11 total tackles this season including four for loss. The 2022 All-SAC Mountain Division first team selection has made 69 tackles in his career including 27 hits behind the line of scrimmage and 13 sacks (T8th in Tusculum history).
The Pioneers (1-2, 1-0 SAC) will host Catawba College this Saturday at 4 p.m. in TU's home opener. Tusculum will play three of his next four games at Pioneer Field.
