FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Tusculum University women's beach volleyball team was swept by both Spring Hill and North Alabama on the final day of the Shoals Beach Bash.

Tusculum (6-16, 3-2 SACC) will look for revenge against Carson-Newman on Wednesday (Apr. 1) in Jefferson City. The Eagles bested the Pioneers on Senior Day earlier in the week.

Match 1: Spring Hill 5, Tusculum 0
The Badgers, using two Pioneer graduate transfers, shutout TU in the day's opener.

Brynn Smith and Sylvia Liszewski fell at the No. 2 slot to begin the match by scores of 21-15, 21-10. 

Jordyn Anderson and Solene Roussel were edged out at the 4's in a reverse sweep: 15-21, 21-18, 15-12.

Former Pioneer Mia Johnson was a member of the clinching pair for SHC at No. 5, beating Siri Aasgard and Ally Doty by a 21-19, 21-16 margin.

At the top flight, Hannah Marsh and Sofia Vega Barrantes suffered a 21-17, 21-15 setback.

Another Pioneer, Landry Tea, helped round out the sweep, defeating Cooper George and Dasha Nikolaeva at the third flight by scores of 21-16, 21-10.

The exhibition flight of Jordyn Kwalwasser and Ryann Gallagher went unfinished tied at one set apiece (18-21, 21-12).

Match 2: North Alabama 5, Tusculum 0
The hosting Lions shutout the Pioneers in the teams' second recorded meeting, the first since 2023.

Anderson and Roussel fell 21-16, 21-11 at No. 4.

The 2's of Smith and Liszewski dropped a 21-16, 21-13 decision.

Aasgard and Doty were swept 21-10, 21-13 at the fifth flight.

Marsh and Vega Barrantes lost a 21-14, 21-15 battle at the top slot, before George and Nikolaeva suffered the same fate with identical scores at No. 3.

Kwalwasser and Gallagher were defeated by a 21-12, 21-16 score in the exhibition flight.
