Nick Forsberg was named Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions on August 1, 2017.
The Staples, Minnesota native coordinates all aspects of marketing and promotions of the University's NCAA sponsored sports as well as cheer and STUNT programs. He coordinates video content, photography, social media and supervision of the student/internship program.
Forsberg graduated from Tusculum in May, 2016, with a 3.75 GPA and majored in sport management. During his undergraduate degree and in four seasons with the Tusculum men’s golf team, he became a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List. He has also been named the SAC Men's Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
Forsberg closed out his senior campaign with a 72.93 scoring average, which ranks fifth-best in program history while earning All-SAC first team accolades. He turned in eight sub-par rounds during his senior year and won a share of medalist honors at the Etowah Spring Challenge. His play helped the Pioneers to five tournament titles and ended his career with a 74.40 stroke average to rank third in Tusculum history. He garnered All-SAC laurels twice and was a two-time SAC All-Tournament honoree.
Outside of golf, Forsberg was an active student on campus, participating and becoming president of the Pioneer Student Athlete Advisory Committee and in turn for his service to the college both on and off campus, Forsberg was the 2016-2017 President's Award recipient. The President's Award is presented to the graduating senior who has contributed the most to the college and who has been the most outstanding achiever in the combined areas of academic work, athletics, campus leadership and personality. The selection is made on the basis of the student’s total four-year record at Tusculum.
After Forsberg’s graduation in 2016, he joined the athletics department as the new graduate assistant for all administrative staff while obtaining his Masters in human resource development. Forsberg now joins the department as the Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions and is enthusiastic about growing the Tusculum brand. “Tusculum has been my home for the past five years sense coming to play golf in 2012” Forsberg said. “I have been welcomed into the Tusculum family and want the best for what has become my new home. It is exciting to be in a position now where everything I do can have a positive impact on the college. This is my goal in whatever I do in life; make a positive impact. I will work to grow Tusculum Athletics presence both in the community and in the world by sharing real experiences across our digital platforms, expanding on our video content and building relationships with the Tusculum and Greeneville community.”
Forsberg implemented improvements to the Tusculum Athletics online streaming and will continue this assignment moving into his new position with the department. Forsberg will also oversee the management and implementation of new and existing digital media campaigns as well as organizing and coordinating promotional activities at Tusculum athletic events.
