GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Garcian D'Cruz is stepping down as head tennis coach at Tusculum University announced Josh Ealy, Vice President of Athletics.
D'Cruz has resigned to accept another coaching position which will be announced by that institution next week.
"I am so grateful to everyone at Tusculum. It has been filled with great memories and I cannot wait to see the team succeed in the future," said D'Cruz. "I am excited for this new chapter to be closer to my family and continue to grow the game of tennis in any way I can."
D'Cruz, a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, came to Greeneville after serving on the men's tennis staff at NCAA Division I Elon University during the 2023-24 season. Before Elon, he was the director of athletics at the Old State North Club in New London, North Carolina. He also served as tennis coach at Lake Norman Charter High School and Thomas Jefferson Academy.
"I wish to thank Coach D'Cruz for his leadership and contributions to our tennis program this past year," Ealy added. "I completely understand his priorities in wishing to be near his family and I wish him all the best in the future."
Since becoming a NCAA Division II member 26 years ago, the Tusculum tennis programs have combined for 12 South Atlantic Conference championships, seven SAC Tournament titles and 18 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Ealy indicated a national search for a new leader of the Tusculum tennis program will begin immediately.
