DURANGO, Colo. --- The Tusculum women's basketball team opens 2018 tied for fifth in the D2SIDA Southeast Region Women's Basketball Poll, through games of December 31.
The Pioneers (8-3, 3-2 South Atlantic Conference) were idle since the release of the last poll, but saw Anderson climb two spots into a tie for fifth place after the Trojans defeated Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday.
Carson-Newman (14-0) remains the unanimous top pick in the regional poll, with Lander (9-2) up one spot to second. Limestone (9-2) and Wingate (10-2) are tied for third, followed by Tusculum and Anderson (9-4) in a tie for fifth. Flagler (6-2) is up three spots to seventh, followed by North Georgia (8-2), poll newcomer Catawba (6-6) and a tie for tenth between Belmont Abbey (8-4) and Columbus State (5-3).
The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday evening at Mars Hill, with the SAC matchup with the Lions tipping off at 6 p.m.
