Tusculum women's basketball to host "Play 4Kay" Game this Wednesday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's basketball team will host its annual WBCA "Play 4Kay" Day, for the Pioneers' home game this Wednesday night against South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill University. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.

Wednesday is also Senior Night for the Tusculum women's basketball program as TC's seniors will be honored in pregame ceremonies.

Tusculum women's basketball players, coaches and support staff will be wearing pink on game day to promote awareness of this dreaded disease.

The mission of the initiative, which began in 2007, is to develop a nation of coaches raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Play 4Kay is named after legendary coach Kay Yow, who fought a courageous and very public battle against breast cancer to build a platform dedicated to improving and extending the lives of cancer patients.  After three recurrences of the disease, Coach Yow passed away on January 24, 2009.
