Bobbie Clarkston was named the Athletic Academic Advisor at Tusculum University in August 2017.
She is responsible for monitoring student-athlete eligibility for Tusculum’s 21 intercollegiate sports.
Clarkston provides academic advising for all student-athlete while assisting with research, submission and validation of required data for the NCAA APR and GSR mandated academic reports and compliance reviews.
She served seven years in the Tusculum’s registrar office from 2011-2017. From 2005-2011, she served as a clerical assistant for the Coordinator of Student Records at Tusculum. Prior to that she worked as a dispatcher with Mountain Empire Older Citizens Group in Virginia.
Clarkston earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tusculum in 2003 in business administration.
The Big Stone Gap, Virginia native is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and is a past member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACARO), Tennessee Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO).
She has served on numerous committees and panels including: Programs & Policies Committee, Admissions & Standards Committee, Administrative Process Improvement Team (APIT) and Tusculum’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). She serves on the QEP Planning Committee for the University and is a member of the Tusculum Community Choir.
