TUSCULUM LISTED IN NCAA WOMEN'S SOCCER STATISTICSOctober 21, 2008INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College women’s soccer team is again ranked among the nation’s leaders in several individual and team categories in this week’s edition of the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer statistics, including senior Danielle Tanner who enters the ninth week of the season tied for the top spot in the nation with 42 points.
Tusculum remains in the top 15 in the nation in scoring offense following its 2-1 extra time win over Catawba College on Saturday, averaging 3.13 goals per match to rank 13th in NCAA II.
Three members of the black and orange are ranked among the nation’s statistical leaders this week, including freshman midfielder Michelle Meade, who is tied for 16th in assists per match (0.6) and 10th in assists (9). Tanner is ranked in the top 10 in four categories, including seventh in points per match (2.8), fifth in goals per match (1.2), and tied for third with 18 goals. Senior forward Kelly Barron is currently 30th in goals per match (0.867) and tied for 23rd with 13 goals through 15 matches this season.
Tusculum returns to the pitch on Wednesday when it travels to Bristol, Tenn. for a 4:30 p.m. match against King College.
