TUSCULUM LISTED IN NCAA WOMEN'S SOCCER STATISTICSSeptember 23, 2008INDIANAPOLIS – The Tusculum College women’s soccer team is listed among the nation’s leaders in three statistical categories for the first time this season in this week’s NCAA Division II national statistics announced officials Tuesday.
The Pioneers enter this week ranked eighth in NCAA II in scoring offense, averaging 3.86 goals per match in their first seven contests of the season following a 12-0 shutout victory over Southern Virginia last week.
Senior forward Danielle Tanner is also ranked among the nation’s leaders in individual goals and points after recording her fourth career hat trick against Southern Virginia to raise her season total to eight goals. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Tanner enters the week ranked 18th in the nation in goals per match, averaging 1.143 goals in seven matches, and is ranked 22nd with 2.57 points per match. The 5-7 attacker is also ranked 20th in goals scored (8), and 21st in points (18).
Tusculum is home for a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches this week, hosting Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday and squaring off against Brevard on Saturday.
