WOMEN'S SOCCER RANKED NINTH IN SOUTHEAST REGION POLLSeptember 17, 2008KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Tusculum College women’s soccer team is ranked ninth in the Southeast Region, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday after posting a 1-0-1 mark against two region opponents this past weekend.
Tusculum notched its second victory of the season on Friday night, defeating the seventh-ranked Columbus State University Cougars 2-1 at Pioneer Field on a pair of goals from seniors Danielle Tanner and Nicole Ferris. The Pioneers then played to a 1-1 draw with Armstrong Atlantic State University on Sunday, as South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Tanner found the back of the net for the fifth time this season to bring the Pioneers back on terms with the Pirates.
The Pioneers return to the pitch tonight when they host Southern Virginia University at Pioneer Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
