Pioneers slip to ninth in NSCAA Southeast Region rankings

KANSAS CITY, Kan. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team slipped to ninth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Division II Southeast Region rankings, released Tuesday.
The Pioneers (8-5-1) suffered a pair of South Atlantic Conference losses on the road last week to Wingate (5-0) and Anderson (1-0 in double overtime), while playing to a 2-2 draw in a non-league match at Young Harris.
Lenoir-Rhyne (12-1-0) continues to hold the top spot in the regional rankings, followed by a tie for second place between North Georgia (11-1-0) and Armstrong Atlantic State (10-2-1). Maintaining fourth and fifth, respectively, are Columbus State (10-3-2) and Lander (10-1-1), while Lees-McRae (10-2-1) vaults to sixth ahead of UNC Pembroke (8-4-2). Closing out the top 10 in positions eight through 10 are rankings newcomer Anderson (8-6-0), Tusculum and Mount Olive (8-3-1).
The Pioneers host SAC rival Lincoln Memorial University Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
