Moore, Pioneers Listed in NCAA Men's Basketball Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College senior Kyle Moore is listed three times in this week’s NCAA Division II men’s basketball statistics announced officials Wednesday morning.

Moore, a 6-3, 185-pound guard from Gainesville, Fla., is averaging 22.5 points per game this season, which is currently second in the South Atlantic Conference and 12th in the nation.  Moore, the 2009 SAC Player of the Year, has scored 20 or more points on eight occasions this season, including four outings of 30 or more.

He enters Wednesday’s road contest at Newberry College with 1,480 points in his 75-game career at Tusculum, which is ninth all-time in school history.

The two time All-SAC standout is averaging 3.25 three-point field goals per contest this year, which is 18th-best in the land.  Moore has tallied 241 three-point field goals in his three TC seasons, needing just three more to match the conference record 244 by former Lenoir-Rhyne University forward John Wadsworth (1992-96).

Moore is also listed 38th in the country in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc this year.

The Pioneers are listed in five team categories, including 14th in scoring defense (59.9 ppg), 41st in field goal percentage defense (.403), 35th in three-point field goal percentage (.389), 11th in three-point field goal percentage defense (.277) and 45th in free throw percentage (.728).

Following Wednesday’s game at Newberry, the Pioneers will be on the road again this Saturday as they face Wingate University for a 4 p.m. contest.
