Moore, Pioneers Listed in NCAA Men's Basketball Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College’s Kyle Moore is listed twice in this week’s NCAA Division II men’s basketball statistics announce officials Tuesday.

Moore, a senior guard from Gainesville, Fla., is 13th in the nation in three-point field goals per game, posting 3.6 treys per outing.  Moore this week’s South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, has tallied 36 three-pointers through 10 games this year, including a career-best nine in last Wednesday’s 72-50 win over Lees-McRae College.  His nine treys are tied for the third most in school and conference history.  They are also the third most this season by any Division II player in the country.

Moore is also averaging 22.1 points per game, which is second in the league and 20th in the country.  He poured in a season-best 41 points against Lees-McRae, which was one-point shy of a career-best for the 2009 SAC Player of the Year.  Moore’s 41-point effort is the sixth best in SAC history and tied for seventh-most by a Pioneer.  His 41 markers are also the third most so far this season by a DII player.

Tusculum is listed in three team categories in this year’s inaugural statistical report.  TC is allowing a SAC-best 60.3 points per game, which is 23rd in the nation.  The Pioneers are also tops in the league in three-point field goal percentage defense (.276 – 31st in NCAA II) and three-point percentage (.391 – 43rd in NCAA II).

Tusculum (5-5) returns to action on Monday (Dec. 21) as the Pioneers travel to Louisville, Ky. to face Bellarmine University for a 7 p.m. contest.
