INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College women’s soccer team, after watching this weekend’s conference tournaments unfold, now awaits the announcement of the 2009 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship field. Tusculum last participated in the NCAA Tournament in 2007, advancing to the Sweet 16 before falling to Columbus State 2-0.
NCAA.com will provide a free webstream of the selection show on Monday, November 9, at 7 p.m. Eastern to announce the field of 48 teams to the national tournament.
South Atlantic Conference tournament champion Carson-Newman, Peach Belt Conference tournament champion Armstrong Atlantic State and Conference Carolinas tournament champion Belmont Abbey have automatically qualified for the tournament.
Those institutions will be joined by three at-large teams from the Southeast Region. Tusculum was ranked third in the Southeast Region rankings last week.
