NO. 14 TUSCULUM WOMEN'S SOCCER BEATS KING, 3-1

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Junior Kelly Barron's two goals led No. 14 Tusculum College to a 3-1 win over King College Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Field.
Barron's first goal was at 39:17 with a cross from freshman Courtney Turner that was tipped in. King College retaliated with a penalty goal scored by Pua Coffman at the 49:10 mark.
The Pioneers came out strong in the second half as Barron scored her second goal of the match as she blasted a shot off the far post into the goal. It was Barron's third goal of the season, after Turner sent a long lead pass down the field to her at 65:37.
Tusculum added an insurance goal in the 76th minute when Nicole Ferris knocked home a free kick from 45 yards out that found the upper right corner.
Pioneer keeper Tori Hadjopoulos had three saves while Tornado goalie Karmin Helton had five. The Pioneers out-shot King 12-7.
TC will host South Atlantic Conference rival Mars Hill this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Pioneers' league opener.
